Sports Fitness
We are excited to be working with Joel Malouf from JMP Sports Performance to offer a 10-week program open for all U9-U19 players to join. Players will have an initial baseline evaluation, and then a program is developed for them to enhance their physical performance and be at their peak potential for game time. Results of the evaluations will be collected and presented to participants at the beginning and end of the program.
Exclusive Coach Training
Our Technical Director, Gerardo Sosa, had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the BeMagistral program in Spain, and has developed an exclusive Coach Training program for our staff and parent coaches. It has been highly praised for its quality content, which is over and above the minimum coaching requirements of CMSA.
Goalkeeper Academy
We offer weekly GK training on Fridays, in partnership with Summit Goalkeeping and our GK lead coach, Calvin Vo. Summit is an industry leader in technical goalie training, and their dynamic and skillful approach to teaching makes our goalies eager to join each week!
Skills Academy
Our Assistant Technical Director, Dani Vanee, has created a comprehensive and high-energy program for optimal individual skill development. Led by Coach Dani and our top training staff, Academy skills sessions are challenging, fun, and fulfilling from week to week.
Enrichment Program
Extra time on the ball, individualized progress goals, and small-group training are featured in this new program led by Coach Christian Arroyo. A selection of players, varying in skill levels, from different teams each week will join in for these specialized sessions that will enhance each player’s aptitude, confidence, and overall comfort level on the field.
VEO Game Recordings
VEO is an exciting new specialized tool for recording games, giving teams the advantage of analyzing and discussing their accomplishments and areas for improvement. Each CMSA team will have 1-2 video sessions included in their season.
Community
WHU is well-known for our welcoming club environment of support, encouragement, and that feeling of family. From tournaments to wrap-up parties, player team building events to coach and team manager training/support groups, we encourage all members to share the WHU community feeling, both on and off the field.
Canada Soccer - SQS Certified
We are very proud to be a licensed Quality Soccer Provider under Canada Soccer’s Standards for Quality Soccer (SQS) program. Our programs offer developmentally appropriate, safe, accessible, and welcoming environments, both on and off the field. We are committed to providing an enjoyable soccer experience that is aligned with Long Term Player Development stage-appropriate best principles.
Alberta Soccer and Calgary Minor Soccer Association
Our governing bodies are the Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) and Alberta Soccer Association (ASA). We have been a member in good standing for over a decade, and continue to work and grow with them to develop and organize opportunities for all of our members to meaningfully participate and achieve their full potential.
