WHU SC provides soccer skills training for players in addition to the training the coaches already provide during practices and games.
Technical training is provided for all players.
Training Provider: Chris Haygarov Sports Training.
Participation in the sessions will be setup according to the age group and skill level of the players to meet their needs. For the teams playing at higher competitive levels and in the older age groups, the sessions will be Team Based and all of the team members are expected to participate. For the other teams, group based sessions will be scheduled and participation is a decision each player/parent can make at the beginning of the season. There will be sessions available to all players.
Goalie training is provided to all full and part time keepers on a weekly basis (except long weekends). Keeper training is provided by Cedric Bovon, our dedicated goalie trainer.
One coach from each team must attend the training sessions to help out, in the team based sessions in particular. These sessions also provide training for the coaches by improving their understanding of soccer and demonstrating other methods and drills for developing their players skills.
Each team must supply an adult who is the same gender as the players to be in attendance at the sessions to attend to injuries or other issues that may arise.
Players are expected to wear shorts/shirt/shin guards to the sessions. The footwear should be soccer cleats for the outdoor sessions. There may be some pre-season indoor sessions that require indoor soccer shoes, court shoes, or runners. Players also need to bring a water bottle. Coaches are expected to provide the balls, cones, pinnies, etc.
Attending the sessions is expected for Team Based sessions and optional for Group Based sessions. Please be there 5 to 10 minutes early to warm up and be ready at the start time.
Weather (outdoor only)
If the weather is poor, check field status to determine if the training has been canceled.
